Inside mount gives the cleanest built-in appearance and requires a minimum recess depth of 2 1/2 inches. Outside mount covers more of the wall around the opening and is usually better for bedrooms, nurseries, and media rooms.

If you want the darkest result, add optional light-blocking side channels after selecting the motor, controller, and warranty options. FitGuard is available if you want one-time measurement protection for a custom shade.

The fabric is 100% blackout, but a roller shade can still have small side gaps. For stronger room-darkening, choose outside mount or add light-blocking side channels.

Which rooms is it best for?

Which motor should I choose?

Plug-in motor works well when an outlet is nearby. Rechargeable battery is cleaner for windows without a nearby outlet. Solar-powered motor is best for hard-to-reach windows with enough sun exposure.
